URGES GREATER MEASURES TO COMBAT TERRORISM LOCALLY

Assemblyman Hikind attended yesterday’s NYPD counter-terrorism presentation at Yeshiva Chaim Berlin. Sponsored by the FJCC, the presentation focused on active-shooter action training, as well as Homeland Security and Preparedness training. Numerous yeshiva executives were on hand, along with principals, rabbis, administrators, teachers, shul representatives and community leaders.

“I’m grateful to the FJCC for organizing this presentation,” said Assemblyman Hikind. “Clearly, the threat of terrorism is genuine and we need to do more to protect our families and our community. Programs like the one today are important for raising awareness and preparedness.”

Assemblyman Hikind recently called on NYPD Commissioner William Bratton to provide the level of protection to the Jewish community that he believes is warranted given the rising number of global terror incidents, as epitomized recently in Paris. The Assemblyman also appeared on CBS-TV where he discussed the need for far greater police protection for the community.
