This is an update to our earlier release:

The Hate Crimes Task Force recently made an arrest of an individual involved in the “Knockout” assault crimes occurring in the confines of the 66th and 70th police precincts. Two of the assaults charged occurred in the confines of the 66th, one on Nov. 8, 2013, at the corner of Ave. L & E. 5th St., and the other on Dec. 7, 2013, at the corner of Ave. M & McDonald Ave.

The defendant gave statements to detectives implicating himself in five assaults. He was charged with two additional assaults for a total of seven assaults, and the “Knockout” pattern case will be closed with an arrest.

Once again, I applaud the detectives and all NYPD law enforcement officers involved.
