In a concise video clip, Assemblyman Hikind explains his proposed legislation that will allow insurance companies and motorists in New York State to use an electronic version as proof of their car insurance, reducing inconveniences and saving resources.

Assemblyman Hikind re-introduced his previous bill to amend the vehicle and traffic law last month. Hikind’s Electronic Proof of Insurance Bill (#A5547) has amassed 27 cosponsors in the Assembly and is being simultaneously sponsored in the NY State Senate by Senator Simcha Felder.

There are currently 37 states where this law is already in effect.
