The Prime Minister Outdid Himself Showcasing World’s Deafening Silence on Dangers of Iran Deal
Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) lauded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech today at the United Nations General Assembly. Hikind said that Netanyahu’s speech was to the point on every single issue, including the dangers of the Iran nuclear deal, and that he outdid himself today.
“I have watched Prime Minister Netanyahu over the years and today’s fiery speech outlining the world’s deafening silence on Iran was very powerful. I felt tremendous pride in listening to him. Netanyahu passionately articulated what I and many others feel and why I have been so vocal in opposing this disastrous deal. As Netanyahu said, in the face of genocidal enemies, the Jewish people have persevered, but more importantly we cannot be silent.”
Hikind also said that when Prime Minister Netanyahu raised the 400-page book written by Iran’s Supreme Leader on his detailed plan to destroy Israel, “I thought for a second that the prime minister would hold up Hitler’s Mein Kampf in his other hand. It is literally sickening that in the face of such threats, the world continues to remain silent.”
On his most recent trip to Israel, Hikind noted that Israelis across the political spectrum opposed the deal, but voiced their concerns about America’s commitment to Israel. Hikind said, “I am glad that the prime minister reiterated that the alliance between Israel and the United States is unshakable. I urge everyone to watch the prime minister’s speech. Those who have supported the Iran nuclear deal, including Congressman Jerry Nadler, should watch the speech and take heed. Although they believe this deal is the best way to block Iran’s path to the bomb, as Netanyahu detailed today, the stark facts point to the reality that this deal only makes war more likely.”
