HIKIND CONFIDENT THAT PRIORITY 5, 6 & 7 SCHOOL VOUCHERS ARE A PRIORITY FOR MAYOR DE BLASIO

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said today that he has every confidence in Mayor de Blasio’s pledge to our community to restore Priority 5, 6 & 7 school vouchers. “I take Mayor de Blasio at his word. He has said time and again that he will restore these vital vouchers to our community.”

During the Bloomberg administration, Priority 5, 6 & 7 vouchers were decimated. These afterschool vouchers were a lifeline to families who are struggling to make ends meet. Whether it is for two-income households who are not getting by, or for those with larger families and greater needs, these vouchers are critical to these families’ survival.

“As a councilman and as Public Advocate, Bill de Blasio never stopped fighting for our community,” said Hikind. “When it comes to our children’s education, Mayor de Blasio will not disappoint us. There is no doubt that he will see his pledge through to fruition.”
