“THIS MANY POTHOLES THIS LATE IN APRIL IS INEXCUSABLE!”

“These conditions are inexcusable!” announced Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) while standing ankle-deep in one of the many potholes that are still found on 13th Avenue in Brooklyn nearly a month after the borough’s last snowfall. “These craters are endangering the lives and vehicles of everyone who comes through here, and this is one of the busiest areas of our community—one of the busiest streets in the entire borough.”

Last week, Hikind complained of the many potholes on Ocean Parkway. He later praised the Department of Transportation for responding after his staff visited the areas where potholes were reported and photographed them to make it easier for the DOT to locate the most dangerous spots.

“It’s like a mine field on 13th Avenue in Boro Park and many other places throughout Brooklyn,” said Hikind. “These potholes are still all over and that’s unacceptable. Let the City bring in more resources as needed to address this.

“Treacherous conditions that endanger people need to be dealt with immediately. The City is responsible for making certain that the lives of New Yorkers are protected. It appears obvious that the resources are not there.”
